If I had to estimate how many batches of chocolate chip cookies I have made in my lifetime, I just couldn't do it. I use to sell chocolate chip cookies which meant weekend after weekend of batches of chocolate chip cookies. That's a lot of cookies!

I have a lot of experience with chocolate chip cookies. I'd like to say every cookie I have ever made has been perfect, but it's just not the case. I've made burnt, flat, crunchy, hard, lemony, crumbly, and greasy cookies. Fortunately I have made enough amazing cookies that I know my way around them.

If you are looking for simple chocolate chip cookies you have two options to make very simple chocolate chip cookies. Making them from scratch is not going to be the simplest. That will take some time and extra effort.

First, you could by cookie dough. Now they even have the kind where you break the pieces apart and put it on a pan. Pop in the oven, bake, and you're ready to enjoy! This is great if you like that fresh out of the oven, warm cookie flavor. You can buy cookie dough at the grocery store or get gourmet cookie dough. Sometimes cookie dough is sold as a fund raiser at schools by kids.

You make fresh baked cookies but you don't have to worry about putting in the wrong ingredients or the wrong amounts or mixing it wrong. As simple as some recipes sound recipes seem to be, some people just aren't good at following these types of directions and mess them up anyway. If this is you, cookie dough is a great choice. You still need to be able to bake them right. Chocolate chip cookies aren't exactly fool-proof, you know.

The absolute easiest way to get simple chocolate chip cookies is to buy them. You could go buy a box of Chips Ahoy, but those aren't like homemade. Check your local bakery or a quaint coffee shop and you can get some pretty amazing cookies. Even your local grocery stores bakery might make them fresh baked. I know they do where I live and they are delicious!

How to Make Double Chocolate Chip Cookies

Who doesn't love chocolate? Unless you're allergic to chocolate, which would probably be a nightmare for most people, you probably love chocolate in all kinds of forms. Maybe you love chocolate cookies, brownies, ice cream, bars, pudding etc.

Chocolate chip cookies just wouldn't be the same without the chocolate chips. It would just be a bland regular cookie. If you really love chocolate, you could even make double chocolate chip cookies.

The easiest way to do this is to look for a recipe. You could find a chocolate cookie recipe and add chocolate chips or you could find a chocolate, chocolate chip cookie recipe.

Another way to add more chocolate is to put in extra chips or chunks of chocolate. Don't put in too many or you will just end up with chocolate bars with bits of cookie. If that sounds good, than by all means, pour in the chocolate!

Finally, you could also put chocolate on top. Drizzle melted chocolate overtop or spread a chocolate butter cream frosting on top. If you want to make triple chocolate chip cookies, make chocolate chip cookies with a chocolate dough, add in chocolate chips, and spread chocolate frosting on top. Oh, that sounds sinfully delicious!

Mess around with these ideas by using white chocolate or caramel! There are so many different flavors you could add. You could also make a chocolate dough and add in other flavored chips such as raspberry, peanut butter, white chocolate, etc. Be creative and enjoy!

How to Make Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Some people love crunchy chocolate chip cookies. I've found that most don't. Crunch isn't always the right place for chocolate chip cookies. Would you rather have soft chocolate chip cookies? Here we will give you some tips to learn how to make soft chocolate chip cookies.

Once you have your dough made, most of what you do to keep from making crunchy, crisp cookies depends on what you do after. Make a dough or buy a tube of chocolate chip cookie dough.

Make sure the dough has been refrigerated for at least 2 hours or more preferably overnight. The dough must be cold if you want to avoid crispy or cakey cookies.

Preheat the oven to the required heat and make sure it is preheated before you put the cookies in. When the oven is preheated or almost there, you can start to put two inch balls of dough on an ungreased cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Do this quickly and try not to roll them between your hands too much or they will soften.

Make sure the pan is not warm or hot. If you are using the pan for a second batch, make sure it first cools completely. Put it in the fridge to make it cold, this is even better.

Bake the cookies for 10 to 12 minute or until lightly golden brown across the whole cookie. You don't want it to be dark, but you want it to cook all the way.

By not overcooking it, it will stay soft and chewy. By putting the balls of dough in the oven very cold, they will not melt around the outside but will spread out evenly in the oven.

How to Make Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

There are several different ways you can make chocolate chip cookies. The most common are chewy, cakey, crispy, crunchy. I find it the most popular type of chocolate chip cookie is a chewy chocolate chip cookie. Here we'll show you how to make chewy chocolate chip cookies.

Follow this chocolate chip cookie recipe. Basically, this will give you chewy chocolate chip cookies if you follow the recipe closely. However, sometimes people cut corners or make mistakes that make would-be chewy chocolate chip cookies hard, crispy, or crumbly. If you want to make sure they are chewy, follow these basic tips.

First, make sure you use butter or half butter half shortening. Make sure the butter is softened but not melted. Make sure it is at room temperature. Leaving it out for a few hours will give you the best results. Mix this with the sugar and brown sugar. You might want to add more brown sugar than regular sugar.

Mix the butter and/or shortening and sugars well. Make sure there are no lumps of neither sugar nor butter or shortening. You need to make sure it is smooth, light, and fluffy. Be careful that there are no brown sugar clumps. Crumble the brown sugar with your hands after you measure it because brown sugar clumps easily.

Next add the two eggs and teaspoon of vanilla. Mix it well but do not beat. Mix it just enough so that it is combined completely, but do not beat it. You do not want to add air to the eggs and batter which can be done easily if you beat it vigorously too long. This will produce cakey cookies and not chewy chocolate chip cookies.

Next, stir in the dry ingredients, and then stir in the chocolate chips. Refrigerate the dough for at least two hours or preferably overnight. Preheat the oven to 350° F. make sure it is completely preheated and that the dough is still cold. Make small 1 1/2 inch balls with the dough and space them about 2 inches apart on the pan.

The pan should be an ungreased cookie sheet. Make sure it is also cold. You could even put it in the refrigerator if you want. Don't make the balls until you are sure that when you're finished the oven will be preheated.

Put them in the oven for the right amount of time, about 8 to 12 minutes, and bake until golden brown. Make sure they are baked all the way, but not until they are dark just lightly golden brown. Remove them from the oven and let them sit on the pan to cool for five minutes. Then, remove them from the pan and transfer them onto a wire rack. Serve them warm or let them cool completely.

To keep them chewy, make sure that you don't put dough on a hot or warm pan. This will make them crispy along the edges. Follow these tips for great chewy chocolate chip cookies.
